a) The Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 cycling race, scheduled to take place on October 24, 2024, marks the third edition since its first event in 2022.
b) A total of 24 teams have officially confirmed their participation for the 5-day race after the Seven Eleven Cycling Team from the Philippines withdrew at the last minute. According to the organizers, initially, they received positive feedback from 35 teams, but only 25 slots were available for this edition.
c) Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 offers a total prize of RM100,000 and features participation from 25 local teams and 9 international teams. Additionally, 8 local teams are competing in the Under-23 age category.
d)There are five jersey categories in contention. The Yellow Jersey is awarded to the rider with the best general classification by time. The Green Jersey goes to the best sprinter, while the Polka Dot Jersey is for the best climber. The Orange Jersey recognizes the best club rider by time, and the White Jersey is awarded to the best under-23 rider by time.
e) The original plan for the inauguration and team presentation ceremony was to be held at Taman Panoramik near Taman Shahbandar in the city of Kuala Terengganu. However, an official letter dated October 17, 2024, from the Terengganu State Sports Council (MSNT) has announced that the event will now take place at Wisma Darul Iman, Kuala Terengganu.
f) According to the schedule for the Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 inauguration and team presentation ceremony, Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh, will be present. The event will also be officiated by the Chief Minister of Terengganu, Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
g) The Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge remains the final destination for cyclists for the third consecutive year, featuring a night criterium race over 57.0 km. Notably, this edition marks the longest distance yet, compared to 48 km in 2023 and 45 km in 2022.
h) Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 boasts a longer cycling distance compared to the past two editions. This year, each cyclist must complete a 671.3 km ride, which is 22.63 km longer than last year and 75.15 km longer than the inaugural edition in 2022.
i) The second stage of Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 starts at Dataran Kampung Lubuk Batu and finishes at Bukit Lubuk Batu, both located in Marang district. This is the only stage in the third edition where the start and end points are different, unlike other stages that begin and end at the same location.
j) The third stage of Tour Gateh D’Tranung 2024 features the longest cycling distance among all stages in this edition. Each cyclist will cover a route of 167.50 km, starting and ending at the Pulau Poh Bridge in Tasik Kenyir, located in the Hulu Terengganu district.
